CALL FOR CHAPTER PROPOSALS
Research and Development in E-Business through Service-Oriented Solutions A book edited by: Katalin Tarnay, Lai Xu and Sandor Imre Publisher: IGI Global, Hershey, USA Project URL: http://www.mcl.hu/ebusiness Last call for proposals: March 31, 2012. *** Introduction The constantly developing information and communication technologies resulted in the extension of the “E-world”: starting from e-commerce through e-government and even e-health, these technologies became ever important fields of science in the past years. In the editors’ view, one of the flagships of the so called information age is e-business: a broad concept branching into various application fields, efficiently and rapidly processing information among business partners, and simply and solely making life easier for all parties involved. New services, protocols, modeling and markup languages, and other advanced technical solutions are required to meet the new standards. Moreover, cloud computing, as a concept of public utility even accelerates the necessity of these methods. *** Objective The editors of this book believe the economical and social advances of e-business are strongly depending on the technical solutions supporting it. There are a vast amount of specialized knowledge sources promoting e-business as a sort of a service tool improving the efficiency of the way we make business with our partners. To continue our train of thought, we wish to share and hopefully extend the knowledge of individuals creating the technical basis of this field: university professors and students, researchers, developers, service providers and other experts. *** Recommended topics Recommended topics include, but are not limited to the following: -Introduction to the subject / overview ---Introduction to the concept of e-business ---History and development ---Introduction to social, economic and technical/technological aspects ---Classification techniques -Economic aspects, concepts and requirements of e-business ---Main concepts ---Economic requirements ---Government policy requirements: conditions and regulations -Technical aspects of e-business ---Processes, structure, management ---Protocols and markup languages in e-business environment ---Application and models of e-business ---Hospitality Industry ---Logistic Industry ---Health Industry ---Real estate industry ---E-banking ---E-tailing (electronic retailing) ---Online publishing ---E-learning ---E-government ---E-marketing ---Utility business models ---Process integration in e-business ---E-contracting, multiparty contracting -Internet & e-business, e-business on the web, delivery models ---Characteristics of Internet support of e-business ---Web 2.0 and e-business, web services, shared web services ---Social network software, virtual communities and e-business ---E-business and cloud computing and software-as-a-service -E-business processes ---Business process management ---Business process automation ---Business process notation ---Business intelligence ---Data mining ---Process mining ---Configurable process models ---Service level agreements -E-business modeling languages ---Advantages of a modeling language in e-business environment ---BPML, ECML and more modeling languages -E-business markup languages ---From XML to ebXML -E-business protocols ---Introduction to e-business protocols ---Presentation of IOTP ---Other e-business related protocols and technologies -E-business security ---Security threats and regulations ---Security functions ---Privacy ---Card data protection ---IP security in e-business -E-business standards ---Requirements ---IETF standards ---ITU standards -Present challenges in e-business, with special regard to e-commerce ---Economic challenges in e-business ---Technical challenges in e-business ---E-business security and trust ---M-commerce issues ---E-government issues ---E-health issues ---E-banking issues -Future concepts & trends ---Supporting mobile devices ---Social networks impact e-business models ---Smart TV ---Macro payment / New payment systems ---New government policy on digital economics ---Quantum information processing in e-business *** Important Dates Phase 1 Last Call for Proposals: March 31, 2012 Full chapter Submission: May 31, 2012 Phase 2 Review Process: June 1, 2012 – September 9, 2012 Review Results to Authors: September 23, 2012 Phase 3 Revised Chapter Submission: October 21, 2012 Submission of Final Chapters: November 11, 2012 *** Submission Procedure Individuals (authors or authors with co-authors) interested in submitting chapters on the above-suggested topics or other related topics should submit a 2-3 page chapter proposal clearly explaining the mission and objectives of the proposed chapter to Katalin Tarnay, editor, at tarnay.katalin(AT)t-online(DOT)hu by no later than March 31, 2012.
