IEEE Symposium on Power Electronics and Machines in Wind Applications – PEMWA 2012, July 16-18, 2012, Denver
Symposium Website: http://durenewable.webs.com/pemwaconference.htm Facebook site: http://www.facebook.com/PEMWA2012 Topics of interest include, but are not limited to: • Wind power grid connection issues under high penetration • Power electronics control of wind turbine induction and permanent magnet generators • Power electronics converter topologies and controls for wind turbine systems • FACTS applications for wind power • Modeling and simulation of wind power converters and wind power generators • Residential/Rural applications and other small wind turbine systems • Low wind-speed technologies • Wind forecasting for dispatching of distributed wind generation sources • Islanding and protection capabilities • Generator design for wind energy systems • Energy storage technologies for use with wind generating sources • Off shore wind power • PMUs / Wide Area Monitoring Protection and Control for wind integration Planned technical tour: July 18, 2012, NREL National Wind Technology Center site. Dates for Symposium: July 16-18, 2012 3 to 5 page long digest submission deadline is February 15, 2012 Notification of Acceptance by March 31, 2012 Final Paper Submission Deadline is May 15, 2012 Location: Denver, Colorado, USA, University of Denver Sponsors: • IEEE Power Electronics Society—PELS, Sustainable Energy Sources Technical Thrust of the Sustainable Energy Systems Technical Committee • IEEE Power and Energy Society (PES) • IEEE Industrial Application Society (IAS) Paper Submission Guidelines Prospective authors are asked to submit a digest explaining the problem that will be addressed by the paper, the major results, and how this is different from the closest existing literature. Papers presented at PEMWA must be original material and have not been previously presented or published. The principal criteria in selecting digests will be the usefulness of the work in wind power applications. Reviewers also value evidence of completed experimental work. The digest must be double spaced in 10-point or larger font and a maximum of five pages including any abstract (optional), figures, and tables. Referencing within the digest should be done by number (i.e. [1]), but the list of references is to be submitted separately from the digest. The digest should not include any author names or affiliations. Please email: (1) complete contact information for the corresponding author, (2) your digest and (3) associated references in separate pdf-format files in one email with “PEMWA 2012” in email subject line to one of the contacts listed below. Eduard Muljadi, National Renewable Energy Lab, Eduard.Muljadi@nrel.gov David Wenzhong Gao, University of Denver, wenzhong.gao@du.edu Wei Qiao, University of Nebraska—Lincoln, wqiao@engr.unl.edu Authors should obtain any necessary company and governmental clearance prior to submission of digests. Digests will be sent to multiple reviewers; therefore “Confidential” and “Proprietary” information should be omitted. If a digest is accepted, a final manuscript and author-registration payment must be received by the deadline or the paper cannot be published in the Proceedings and included in IEEE Xplore database or presented at the conference. Manuscripts exceeding seven pages are subject to extra page charges approximately $100 for each page over seven). PEMWA relies upon a peer review process to ensure the quality of the technical content. Symposium Co-Chairs: David Wenzhong Gao, University of Denver, wenzhong.gao@du.edu Kimon Valavanis, University of Denver, Kimon.valavanis@du.edu Technical Program Co-Chairs: Eduard Muljadi, NREL, Eduard.Muljadi@nrel.gov Wei Qiao, University of Nebraska—Lincoln, wqiao@engr.unl.edu Contact email: PEMWA2012@gmail.com OR Feel free to contact any of the co-chairs (listed above) for further information. |
