Changes in the agrifood system are rapid. Liberalization policies in domestic and international markets are key drivers of these changes that lead to globalizing food chains. These ultimately increase quality standards and market requirements, which brings about new challenges, particularly for small producers in emerging markets.
With these challenges in mind, the Agribusiness Economics Conference aims to strengthen industry-academe partnership by providing a venue to present relevant researches and elicit feedback on the application and significance of research undertakings in the agribusiness industry, as well as foster and enhance networking and collaboration of various stakeholders. This conference will tackle agribusiness potentials and issues in globalizing food chains, particularly their implications for emerging economies and small-scale producers. It will cover the following topics: * Supply chain management * Value chain analysis * Economics of agricultural markets * Demand and macroeconomic analysis * Development and trade policies * Trade and market development * Buyer behavior and consumer preferences * Quality and food safety standards * Product development and market study * Producer organizations * Enterprise planning and development * Agricultural extension strategies * Post-harvest and logistic systems * Production technologies * Technopreneurship and emerging bio-industries * Environment and climate change issues relating to production |
