With researchers and therapists from a wide variety of academic disciplines, this event will be dedicated to the exploration of a broad range of subjects relating to scientific research into psychedelic substances and the psychedelic experience. From addiction treatment to psychotherapy with the aid of psychedelics, from the neurobiology of ayahuasca to the social, ritual and legal implications of its use, and from human psychopharmacology research and the exploration of exceptional mindstates to new views on the legalisation of psychedelic substances. In 2010, Mind Altering Science was organized for the first time. ICPR 2012 will be a continuation of this conference. We welcome papers within the broad and interdisciplinary field of psychedelic science. Researchers who are still in the process of writing are also strongly encouraged to submit. Poster presentations are also welcome to apply.

The OPEN Foundation: Research into the Psychedelic Experience Netherlands

The OPEN Foundation is an interdisciplinary initiative aimed at achieving the following goals:
* To make psychedelics an accessible subject for both scientists and students who want to do research.
* The acknowledgement of psychedelics as a legitimate academic subject at all Dutch universities.
* To increase awareness of the (psycho-) therapeutic applications of psychedelics.
* To stimulate media and politics to adopt an objective and evidence-based attitude towards psychedelics.
