Invited Sessions on Advances in Biometrics within the 8th Int. Conf. on Intelligent Information Hiding and Multimedia Signal Processing (IIH-MSP 12) July 18-20, 2012, Piraeus-Athens, Greece IIH-MSP 2012 is the eighth International Conference on Intelligent Information Hiding and Multimedia Signal Processing. This year the conference is co-sponsored by IEEE and hosted by the University of Piraeus, Piraeus, Greece. In IIH-MSP 2012 there are 3 Invited Sessions on Biometrics, covering the following aspects: 1. Improved methods for recognition and performance evaluation; 2. Security and privacy issues; 3. Disruptive biometric sensing technologies and new applications. We invite researchers and professionals in the field of biometrics and related fields to submit fullpapers presenting high quality original research and development for the following tracks, covering but not limited to the following topics: Session 1: Improved methods for recognition and performance evaluation Biological biometrics: Finger, face, iris, palm, vein, ear, teeth, finger knuckle, brain wave, heart sound, etc. Behaviour biometrics: gait, keystroke dynamics, mouse dynamics, in-air signature, etc. Continuous biometric authentication New biometric modalities / features Multi-biometrics and fusion Fast biometric feature indexing Aging model Performance evaluation Sample and sensor quality assessment Session 2: Security and privacy issues Biometric template protection methods Privacy-enhancing biometrics Anti-spoofing devices and algorithms Security and privacy assessment Session 3: Disruptive biometric sensing technologies and new applications Disruptive sensing and data processing technologies for biometrics Multi-spectral imaging for biometrics On-the-move sensing and processing Mobile biometrics Medical biometrics Biometrics-enabled new applications Participants are requested to send their papers in full-paper format, with a length between 4 and 6 pages in A4 size (pages beyond 4 are subject to additional cost).
