Emerging technologies such as low-cost sensing, wireless and mobile devices, social and cloud computing platforms, big data analytics and others fundamentally transform the information technology (IT) industry. The confluence and congruence of these technologies is not only possible, but also offers amazing opportunities for advancement and innovation. Major R&D efforts are under way to bring about this new industrial revolution and provide novel and impactful solutions to solve critical problems in various industrial domains including health care, finance, commerce, and energy.

The goals of this first International Workshop on Advancement from Confluence of Emerging Technologies (ACET) are:

To provide a forum for researchers and industrial technologists to share their visions, ideas, and insights on these advancements, technology gaps and research agendas; and
To provide a forum for research collaboration and discussion including early feedback and industrial validation.
