Technology-enhanced learning is an interdisciplinary field that
integrates researchers with different backgrounds (Computer Science,
Engineering, Education, Psychology, instructional design and others)
but has one common goal: to support new learning experiences where
students can work mediated bytechnology and learn more effectively
through exploration of the content and discussion with teachers and
colleagues. The support of robust learning is a complex issue due to
many factors (e.g., psychological, technological, personal,
instructional, etc.) that affect learning processes and hence, the
learning outcome. To tackle this problem, researchers in the field
have always been innovative. Through the analysis of different
learning settings, researchers have found ways to integrate major
advances in Artificial Intelligence, Computer Vision, Data Mining,
Human-Computer Interaction and other sub-areas of Computer Science
with smart devices to leverage the development of intelligent and
interactive learning environments. For teachers, an
intelligent/interactive learning environment offers better ways to
create/reuse/share content, new methodologies and instruments to
deploy effective learning activities and accurate tools to analyze
students’ progress throughout the learning process. For students, it
allows for the presenting the content in an intelligent and adaptive
fashion, which enables the restructuring of learning content according
to students’ needs and stimulates the occurrence of deep and long-term
understanding.

However, to accomplish the development of intelligent/interactive
learning environments that meet the needs of the next generation of
students and teachers, we need to re-think the state-of-the-art in
computer science and other related areas, and push the research trends
toward the creation of technologically sophisticated systems/methods
capable of enhancing/improving learning. This problem has become more
evident with the emergence of Web technologies that allow people to
work and learn collaboratively. How to make an effective use of
serious games, mobile devices, multimedia content and tools, MOOCs,
blogs, wikis, podcasts, social networking sites and other Web 2.0
technologies to create more engaging, interesting and fruitful
learning is still an open question. To use these technologies
adequately and create pedagogically sound learning activities it is
necessary to create more intelligent and innovative ways to support
both teachers and learners.

Therefore, the aim of the ACM SAC Track on Intelligent, Interactive
and Innovative Learning environments is to bring together researchers
and practitioners from academia, industry and schools to think
together and share their visions of the next generation of educational
technologies that will meet students’ needs in the 21st century. The
ACM SAC will be held on Salamanca, Spain from April 13 to 17, 2015.

---------------------------- Topics of Interest --------------------------

We are particularly interested in technological advances in the field
of computer science, engineering and related fields that can be
applied to leverage current learning systems in architectural,
technological and philosophical levels. The topics of interest
include, but are not limited to:

- Architectures and frameworks for intelligent learning environments
- Tools and languages to support learning design
- Educational Data mining
- Intelligent authoring/tutoring systems
- Agents and Multiagents
- (Social) Semantic Web technologies and linked data for education
- Use of tags, blogs, wikis, and other Web 2.0 technologies to support
learning
- Innovative ways to analyze students’ learning
- New approaches for group/individual assessment
- Computer-Supported Collaborative Learning
- User modeling, adaptation and personalization
- Mobile and ubiquitous computing for learning
- Intelligent/interactive learning environments applied to specific domains
- Culturally-aware systems
- MOOCs (Massive Open Online Course)
- Serious games, gamification and games with a purpose
- Learning technologies for underserved people
- Assistive Technology for Learning
- AI, IHC and other computing related areas applied to Education

------------------- Submission -------------------

Authors should follow the ACM format
athttp://www.acm.org/conferences/sac/sac2015/. Submissions should not
exceed six (6) double-column pages (with the option, at additional
expense of USD 80 per page, to add two more pages). Accepted papers
will be published in the ACM SAC proceedings and widely available
through the ACM Digital Library.

Submit your paper electronically in PDF via the START Conference
Manager at https://www.softconf.com/f/sac2015/

Paper registration is required for allowing the inclusion of the
paper/poster in the conference proceedings. An author or a proxy
attending ACM SAC MUST present the paper. This is a requirement for
all accepted papers and posters to be included in the ACM digital
library. No-show of scheduled papers and posters will result in
excluding them from the ACM digital library.
