Special Issue on
Development and Integration of Renewable Energy Resources in the Commercial and Industrial Sectors The increase in energy demands is a prevalent and ongoing issue, which can no longer be solely sustained through traditional sources such as fossil fuels or nuclear. Concerns regarding the future availability of these resources and their cumulative damage to the environment has spawn a great interest within the academic and industry communities to exploit and make use of alternative energy resources to attain new levels of energy sustainability. These alternatives are comprised of all forms of energy classified as renewable resources, which include solar, wind, geothermal, and others. The focus and intention of this special issues is to aggregate a collection of research regarding renewable energy in all aspects related to the generation, distribution, storage, modeling and simulation, as well as, cost assessment and market penetration initiatives. In particular, we seek papers in but not limited to the following subfields: • Transmission of renewal energies • Developments and planning of renewable energy infrastructures • Assessment management policies • Optimization of renewable energy market penetration • Business model • Capacity planning • Design and optimization of infrastructure • Hybrid Energy Systems • Resource forecasting and prediction • Mathematical models Papers in other related areas are also welcomed. Case studies and real world applications are encouraged. All papers will be subjected to a peer review and must be submitted online. Important dates: • Submission of manuscripts deadline: 15 February 2011 • Notification to authors: 15 April 2011 • Revised paper submission deadline: 15 May 2011 • Second-round review results notification: 15 June 2011 • Final manuscript submission: 30 June 2011 Editors Scott E.
