This conference looks to address the concern that Europe has insufficient capability to prove future Weapon Systems.
Trials are costly, complex in nature, involve national interests and have environmental and safety implications. Weapon Systems are becoming difficult to test within domestic range constraints due to their greater reach. A dependency on foreign ranges has developed which raises issues of export control, arms trading restrictions, exposure of key technologies and uncertainty of programme execution. Can European range capability rise to the challenge of supporting future European Weapons Systems programmes? The Organising Committee invites prospective authors to submit abstracts of original work for presentation at this conference that cover the following themes: Why do we have trials? Is there a better approach to Weapon Systems acceptance? Where does the balance for modelling and testing lie? What do you test for validation and system acceptance? What are the current capabilities and limitations of European ranges? What are the implications of a probabilistic approach to risk and range safety? What tools are available for the analysis of range safety? To find out how to submit an abstract, please visit the Royal Aeronautical Society's website. The deadline for submitting abstracts is Friday 28 February 2014. |
