This Royal Aeronautical Society Flight Simulation Group conference will explore the potential to enhance synthetic mission training events and extend their use through emerging technologies and training concepts. Papers are sought that present enhanced technologies and concepts, and provide innovative training solutions that address;

• The analysis of mission training requirements to identify training tasks, objectives
and required competency
• Exercise and scenario development processes and tools
• Exercise management processes and tools
• Mission planning integrated with training systems
• Military and civil mission command where the focus of command is not the pilot
• Collaborative training events, including planning, execution and debrief
• Affordable image generation and large field of view display systems for mission
training tasks
• Affordable motion cueing for mission training devices
• Multi-cue integration (Controls, Visual and Motion)
• Imagery correlation across multiple simulations
• Air Traffic simulation and automated voice dialogues
• The use of geospatial and imagery data in mission training and rehearsal
supported by commercial on line sources or C4ISR systems
• Enabling Live, Virtual and Constructive simulations to work effectively together,
and applicable standards including communication, architectures and protocols
• Airborne embedded simulation and networking
• Unmanned Airborne Systems simulation for mission training
• Multi-Level security management for mission training systems
• The simulation of mission communications, including data
• Exploiting mainstream computer, entertainment and mobile technologies for
mission training
• The implementation of Service Oriented Architectures for mission training
• The issues that are holding back more extensive use of networked mission
training

The Organising Committee invites prospective authors to submit abstracts of original work for presentation at the conference. Abstracts should be written in English and contain between 200-500 words, preferably in electronic format, pdf or typed double spaced on A4 or 8 x 12 inch paper. Authors should submit their abstracts in electronic format only by
Friday 26 October 2012. Selection will be made on the abstract content and applicability to the final published programme requirement.
