Call for Papers: Volume 8, 2012
AlterNative is now accepting submissions for its first issue for 2012. AlterNative is a multidisciplinary, peer-reviewed journal published quarterly that aims to present research and analysis from indigenous worldviews and perspectives. Submissions should relate to the themes of the journal: • Origins • Place • Peoples • Power • Community • Culture • Traditional and oral history • Heritage • Colonialism • Intervention • Development • Self-determination AlterNative particularly encourages indigenous scholars to contribute submissions. Specialists and practitioners working on indigenous issues are also welcome. Submission and Deadline Details: Articles: AlterNative primarily publishes substantive articles that address a particular topic or theme (5,000-7,000 words long). Commentaries: We also publish short, timely commentaries which address a particular indigenous topic, theme, or contemporary issue affecting indigenous societies (2,000-3,500 words long). Commentaries that address critical issues and reviews of volumes are also accepted. Please contact us directly if you are thinking of submitting this kind of article. Sample articles and full author guidelines can be downloaded from our website. We receive submissions throughout the year. However, for potential consideration in the first issues of 2012, articles should reach us no later than 1st December 2011. Please be aware that we cannot assign publications dates until acceptance, so early submission is recommended.
