6th London School of Business and Management
Teaching and Learning Conference 2016 To Boldly Go! Redefining the Inclusive Curriculum in HE 12 July 2016, London, UK Royal National Hotel, Bedford Way, London WC1H 0DG The annual London School of Business and Management Teaching and Learning Conference brings together established and emerging academics, practitioners and policymakers interested in teaching and learning in a widening participation context. Our 6th conference serves as an exploratory platform for sharing ideas, research and experience with professionals from across the Higher Education sector. Additionally, it offers great opportunities to extend professional networks, forge new collaborations, broaden core expertise and, most importantly, foster reflection on improving current practices of teaching and learning. The programme of the conference will reflect the following theme: To Boldly Go! Redefining the Inclusive Curriculum in Higher Education. It focuses on: • Students as Partners • Curriculum Design • Servant Leadership • Educational Technology and Engagement • Enterprise and Employability • Learning Gain Inclusion in education is often referred to the human diversity of students with regards to ability, culture, gender, age, language and social background. The Higher Education Academy emphasises the need for taking into account student experience, their cultural and social background as well as the presence of any physical or sensory impairment and their mental well-being when developing and offering degree courses. This conference focusses on the increasingly diversifying nature of the HE student cohorts and strives to facilitate a debate on designing and delivering courses with inclusion in mind. It covers a range of topics directly related to learner support, engagement, design and delivery methods, as well as technological innovations leading towards efficacy in teaching and learning. We encourage educational researchers and practitioners to take part in the call for papers, by submitting an abstract by the given dates.
