You are invited to an interdisciplinary conference on Arab Spring, the Middle East and Turkey on 19 May 2013.
This conference aims to evaluate most of the contemporary issues surrounding the Middle East within the notion of the Arab Spring. As the “theme” is the Arab Spring, some concepts such as democracy, citizenship and dictatorship etc. play bigger roles. Therefore, our conference will pay special attention to these subjects. By taking these notions into account, this conference will provide a clear understanding of the Arab Spring for the wider world.
The conference also includes Turkey’s, an influential player in the region, relations with the countries in the region, and It’s politics regarding the Arab Spring.
Papers presented in The Conference on Arab Spring, the Middle East and Turkey will be published by one of the renowned academic publishing companies such as the Cambridge Scholars Publishing. Therefore, as well as giving opportunities to encounter researchers interested in the similar subjects, this conference will also give academics and students an opportunity to submit their papers to be considered for publication as a chapter within a book. Proceedings of our first conference were published in November 2012 under the title of “Turkey-EU relations: Power, Politics and the Future” . The book can be obtained from major book stores.
