CALL FOR PAPERS International Workshop on Cognitive Radio and Smart Antennas (CORSA) December 12, 2011 Bangalore, India Co-located with 5th International Conference on Internet Multimedia Systems Architecture and Application (IMSAA-11) Overview: Building on the success of the first international workshop on Cognitive Radios in December 2010, this workshop on Cognitive Radio and Smart Antennas which is co-located with IMSAA 2011, aims to bring together researchers from academia, industry, and government to present and discuss new techniques and concepts for the enhancement of spectrum efficiency in wireless networks. Both the smart antennas and the cognitive radios are considered as the key enabling technologies for the emerging and future generations of wireless communication systems. Apart from efficient use of the spectrum, the use of cognitive radio technology together with reconfigurable communication and networking can facilitate the integration and interoperability of different wireless systems. The Cognitive Radio Network (CRN) formed out of cognitive radios extends the radio link-level features to network layer functions and above. There has been considerable interest in integrating the advantages of cognitive radio and multiple antenna diversity, as the smart antennas have the potential not only to enhance the converge and the throughput of the secondary network, but also to protect primary users from harmful interference. For the International Workshop on Cognitive Radio and Smart Antennas (CORSA), we invite papers offering novel research contributions in all aspects of cognitive radio/networks and smart antennas. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to: * Cognitive Radio and Network architectures * Cognitive MIMO radios * Wideband sensing and multiband agile wireless networks * Dynamic spectrum sharing techniques * Cooperative resource management and optimization * Interference measurements and metrics * Cross-layer design issues * QoS provisioning in adaptive, spectrum agile, and cognitive networks * Interoperability, interference and co-existence of dissimilar wireless network * Antennas for beamforming and diversity * Interference alignment techniques * Multi-antenna channel measurements * Spatial channel modeling * Space-time processing, Space-time coding * Multiple-input and multiple-output (MIMO) network * Multicarrier and multiuser communications * Relaying and multihop * Cooperative and sensor networks * Reconfigurable and software defined radios * Information theory and capacity bounds for spectrum sharing network Guidelines for Submission Submitted papers must represent original material that is not currently under review in any other conference or journal, and has not been previously published. Paper length should not exceed five-page technical paper manuscript. Please see Author Information page for submission guidelines at IMSAA 2010 website. The paper should be used as the basis for a 20-30 minute Workshop presentation. All the accepted papers will be available on IEEE Xplore. Important Dates: * Paper submission: 30th September 2011 * Paper review notification: 1st November 2011 * Paper camera ready: 15th November 2011 More Information: http://www.imsaa.org/ Contact: * Jyotsna Bapat, jbapat@iiitb.ac.in * Viswanath Ganapathy, gviswa@gmail.com * M.
