Call For Papers | |||||||||||||||||
A call is made for research papers and other relevant contributions, such as posters and workshops, as well as other innovative activities. It is expected that the proposed Conference contributions will address the topics mentioned below.
Prospective authors should submit an abstract of 250-350 words, in English, outlining the aims, content and conclusions of their papers and other contributions. The abstract should include the title of the paper, authors’ names, affiliations, mailing addresses, e-mail address, telephone and fax numbers. Authors’ contributions (in form of research articles) will be printed after the Conference, with soft editing, language correction and formatting. The authors must present their papers or carry out intended activities personally, as their contributions will not be published in the Conference Publication unless delivered. The Proceedings will be prepared electronically and authors whose papers have been included in the Proceedings will receive an electronic copy stored on CD or USB. THEME AND TOPICS The Conference theme Networking in Engineering and Technology Education was chosen to facilitate discussions and personal interaction between academics involved in engineering and technology education from different cultural backgrounds. The theme will allow authors to identify and present best collaborative programmes and projects, as well as examples relevant to the main theme. Addressing issues of concern and discussing the status and quality of global engineering education are also important objectives of the Conference. Although the Conference’s emphasis is on the main theme, paper proposals on all aspects of engineering education and industrial training are most welcome. Suggested topics for Conference papers include, but are not restricted to, the following: Innovation and best practice in engineering and technology education International examples of education and training International collaborative programmes and systems International mobility of staff and students Recognition of foreign qualifications and accreditation systems The impact of new technology on the effective training of engineers and technologists Development of new curricula Effective methods in engineering and technology education Multimedia in engineering and technology education Management of academic engineering and technology institutions Quality assurance in engineering and technology education Engineering and technology management education Promotion of continuing education, distance education and open learning Academia/industry interaction programmes Social and philosophical aspects of engineering and technology Articulation in engineering and technology education and credit transfer TAFE and vocational education and training Case studies Sustainability, sustainable development and environmental protection in engineering and technology education It is anticipated that proposed papers will present findings describing the effectiveness of new approaches to engineering and technology education, as well as industrial training. The implementation of special programmes, methods and modern approaches to education and training are of particular relevance to the Conference theme. |
