CALL FOR PAPERS
IEEE Journal of Biomedical and Health Informatics (Retitled from IEEE Transactions on Information Technology in Biomedicine (T-ITB) Special Issue: Telehealth Systems and Applications --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- OVERVIEW The convergence of information and communication technologies supporting Telehealth systems and applications are fostering a diversity of cost-effective and efficient healthcare solutions. These solutions are becoming embedded in all aspects of clinical care, and are enhancing the quality-of-care while decreasing the rapid growth in healthcare costs. Furthermore, through the expansion of affordable and accessible Internet-enabled health sensors and mobile computing devices, new Telehealth systems and applications are being developed that will lead to significant improvements to our current healthcare systems. This special issue aims at reporting the state-of-the-art research in Telehealth systems and applications. It will examine how recent technological developments are reshaping and transforming the healthcare sector. Suggested topics, but not limited to, are: • Mobile health (mHealth) • Telesurgery and Teleproctoring • Remote health monitoring • Smart medical home / Ambient assisted living • Wearable sensor-based health monitoring • Smart clothe for online real-time monitoring • Aging care Telehealth services • Personalised / Electronic health records • Decision support / Artificial Intelligence in Telehealth • Deployment of Telehealth in clinical environments --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- GUEST EDITORS Prof. (David) Dagan Feng University of Sydney (Australia) dagan.feng@sydney.edu.au Dr. Jinman Kim University of Sydney (Australia) jinman.kim@sydney.edu.au Prof. Mohamed Khadra University of Sydney (Australia) mohamed.khadra@sydney.edu.au Prof. Donna L.
