CALL FOR PAPERS Journal of Memetic Computing Special Issue: Call for Papers Advances in Nature Inspired Algorithms for Complex Numerical Optimization Problems Manuscript submission: 30th June 2012 Notification of acceptance/revisions/rejection: 30th September 2012 Revised manuscript submission: 31st October 2012 Notification final decision: 31st December 2012 Final manuscript submission: 15th January 2013 Aims and Scope Optimization problems occur in almost all spheres of human activities. However, with the increasing competitiveness in the real world scenario, the mathematical models of such problems are getting more and more complex. In fact, cases may appear where it is difficult to place a problem under a specific category. In order to deal with such cases, sophisticated techniques/ algorithms are needed which can efficiently deal with such cases. Nature has always been a source of inspiration for researchers to develop algorithms for the complex numerical optimization problems usually infeasible to solve using traditional techniques. The computational algorithms inspired from nature fall under the category of Nature Inspired Algorithms. In the past few years, researchers have given much attention to Nature Inspired Algorithms (NIA) which not only give a reasonably good solution but are also computationally fast. Some of the popular Nature Inspired Algorithms for complex numerical optimization include Genetic Algorithms, Simulated Annealing, Differential Evolution, Particle Swarm Optimization, Bacterial Foraging Optimization, Artificial Bee Colony, Neural Networks, and Quantum Computing etc. The aim of this special issue is to bring together researchers working in the field of Nature Inspired Algorithms. The main topics of the special issue are: • Novel nature inspired algorithms for complex numerical optimization problems • Nature inspired algorithms for multi-objective numerical optimization problems • Nature inspired algorithms for constrained optimization • Hybrid methods • Comparison of various nature inspired algorithms for complex numerical optimization problems • Parallel implementation • Real world / novel applications Instructions for Authors Manuscripts should have approximately 20 pages and must comply with the author guidelines of the Memetic Computing journal (http://www.springer.com/engineering/journal/12293). Manuscripts should be submitted via the Springer Editorial System https://www.editorialmanager.com/meme. Please choose “SI: Advn in Nature Inspired Algorithms for Complex Numerical Optimization Problems” when specifying the Article Type. All papers will be rigorously refereed by 3 peer reviewers. Submission of a manuscript to this special issue implies that no similar paper is already accepted or will be submitted to any other journal.
