The majority of organizations in the commercial and government sectors are relying completely on their computer and network systems. Extensive attacks can cause heavy loss in a few seconds. Therefore, securing their computers, networks, and information is imperative. Currently, the researchers, analysts, designers, and developers are taking considerable interest in different aspects of computer and network systems security. Based on the importance of security and interest of the researchers, this special issue focuses on review, survey, innovative methods, and techniques in order to address unique security issues which are introduced by new computing paradigms and techniques. Original submissions reflecting latest research observations and achievements are invited. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:

· Threat modeling

· Securing C4I systems

· Cloud computing security

· Security in sensor networks

· Securing vehicular ad-hoc network

· Applications of soft computing in security

· Medical image security

· Pattern recognition and machine learning techniques

This special issue aims to promote innovative research in the area of Emerging Technologies in Information Systems and Network Security. The submitted papers must be written in English and must describe original research which is not published nor currently under review by other journals or conferences. All submitted papers will be reviewed by at least three reviewers and selected based on their originality, significance, relevance, and clarity of presentation.
