There has been an unprecedented growth in most part of the world during the last few decades. Unfortunately, this growth has not touched all parts of our society. While the poverty has been reduced in some of the emerging economies like India, China and Vietnam, half of the world's population owns less than 1% of the wealth and particularly in India the situation is even starker. The immediate challenge for India is to propagate and infuse an inclusive and sustainable growth.
For a rapid and sustained poverty reduction there must be an inclusive growth that allows people to contribute to and benefit from economic growth. Rapid pace of growth is unquestionably necessary for poverty reduction, but for this growth to be sustainable in the long run, it should be broad-based across sectors, and inclusive of all parts of society. Sustained growth rates and poverty reduction, however, can be realized only when the sources of growth are expanding, and an increasing share of the labour force is included in the growth process in an efficient way. In order to create a better and sustainable future for our society, Governments, Corporates and NGOs will need to work collectively. From this perspective, Institute of Management Technology, Nagpur, is organizing a national conference on " Inclusive and sustainable growth: Roles of Industries, Governments & Society”. The 2-day national conference would be featuring 2 major components which are: • Invited talks and panel discussions by well-known academicians, corporate leaders, administrators and NGOs presenting their perspectives • Presentations of research papers and case studies based on the conference theme by academicians and practitioners Call for Papers Research papers, cases and articles are invited on the following sub-themes of the conference: • Is inclusive growth a necessary and sufficient condition for a sustainable economic growth and overall social prosperity? • Impact and way-ahead of different public policy reforms for providing basic necessities • Role of NGOs and SHGs towards upliftment of the deprived sections of the society • To critically analyse roles and initiatives of Micro Finance and DFI initiatives • To evaluate the participation of academic community towards inclusion and upliftment of society • Education and skill development for sustained employment opportunities • Role of information and communication technology in inclusive growth • Affordable products and services offerings through innovation • Approaches to understanding sustainability • Sustainable industrial ecosystems • Social and ecological auditing and valuation of growth models • Corporate social responsibility in maintaining sustainability • Management, ethics and sustainability • Integrating sustainability into management education and practice • Public policy on inclusive and sustainable growth • Inclusivity and sustainability issues in resource rich but economically backward states such as Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Orissa, Jharkhand, UP, MP and Maharashtra (Vidarbha)Any other topic related to the theme of the conference is also permissible • Any other related areas |
