Second International Workshop on Web Information Processing (IWWIP 2011)
11-12 July 2011, Sheraton Guilin Hotel, Guilin, Guangxi, China Organized By:IEEE System, Man and Cybernetic SocietyHarbin Institute of Technology, China The International Workshop on Web Information Processing aims to provide a forum for researchers to exchange their exploration on the state-of-the-art information processing technologies for retrieving, organizing, analyzing and mining the various kinds of Web information. In the past year, the 1st International Workshop on Web Information Processing (IWWIP 2010) was successfully held in Qingdao, China. In Nov. 2010, all IWWIP2010 papers were indexed by EI Compendix. In addition, 5 papers were recommended for submitting an expanded version to a special issue of International Journal of Computer Processing of Oriental Languages in 2011. In this year, IWWIP 2011 will focus on the application of text mining, natural language processing and natural language understanding techniques to process large amount of complex Web information. The genuine landmarks of the workshop include the best paper award. Furthermore, IWWIP 2011 will invite 1-2 keynote speeches to present the state-of-the-art research on web information processing. IWWIP 2011 will be jointly held with the 2011 IEEE International Conference on Machine Learning and Cybernetics (ICMLC 2011, July 10-13). Participants are free to attend sessions, tutorials, panels, and demonstrations of both conferences. A joint proceeding will be published by IEEE Press. Note that all past IWWIP papers are EI indexed. Furthermore, selected papers will be recommended for publication in the International Journal of Computer Processing of Oriental Languages, Far East Journal of Experimental and Theoretical Artificial Intelligence, and International Journal of Machine Learning and Cybernetics. Topics of Interest We invite submissions in all related areas to Web information processing. Areas of interest include, but are not limited to: Content-based Web Information Filtering Intelligent Human-Web Interaction Machine Learning for Information Processing Ontology-Based Information Extraction and Retrieval Opinion Mining and Sentiment Analysis Search Engines and Meta-search Engines Social Networks Model and Mining Soft Computing for Information Processing Language Generation Parsing and Chunking Question Answering Web Information Extraction Semantic Role Labeling for Information Processing Machine Translation Multilingual Processing Multimodal Systems and Representations Statistical and Machine Learning Methods Knowledge Grids and Grid Intelligence Text Mining and Web Content Mining Web Information Categorization Web Information Clustering Web Information Retrieval Web-Based Ontology Learning Paper Submission Paper submissions should be limited to a maximum of 6 pages (only one extra page is available at the cost of extra payment). All submitted papers must be written in English and be formatted according to the IEEE 2-column format (see the Author Guidelines). Each paper will be reviewed by at least 2 reviewers to evaluate its technical quality, relevance, significance, and clarity. The workshop only accepts on-line submissions.
