**Special Session on Intelligent Systems in Business Decision Making*** http://www.uco.es/isda2011/?page_id=113 Under the frame of: 11th International Conference on Intelligent Systems Design and Applications (ISDA) November 22-24, 2011 Córdoba, Spain http://www.uco.es/isda2011/ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ EXTENDED DEADLINE: FULL PAPER SUBMISSION 15 June, 2011 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ************************************************************************************************************** * If you are interested in submitting a paper to this special session, please send us an e-mail * with a tentative title and a list of authors *************************************************************************************************************** SCOPE Decision making is a crucial process in business. In the current dynamic and uncertain world (financial crisis, increase in petroleum prices, etc.), making the right decision or choosing the correct strategy can mean the success or the failure of a company. The vast amount of available information, the uncertainty and vagueness present in this information or the wide diversity of factors that should be taken into account are some of the aspects that make this process complex. However, a good decision-making policy is essential for any company that wants to achieve a competitive advantage in the current global market. The development and application of Intelligent Systems to support Business Decision Making has become successful since it has contributed to reduce the impact of the former problems. This type of systems makes this process faster and more robust, as well as providing efficient, effective and low cost decisions. However, the application is not straightforward due to the complexity of the current social and economic systems, highly competitive markets, real-time decision making, etc. Beside this, every sector (transport, bank, textile, etc.) and even each department (marketing, financial, human resources, etc.) has its own needs and objectives which makes necessary the development of specific Intelligent Systems. This special session aims at bringing together researchers from both academia and industry to review the latest theoretical and practical advances and explore future directions in the application and development of Intelligent Systems for Business Decision Making. TOPICS Topics of the special session include (but are not restricted to) application of Intelligent Systems in/for: - Technology watch - Competitive Intelligence - Prospective technology - Scenarios - Trend analysis - Risk assessment - Business strategic planning - Business marketing planning - Customer Relationship Management (CRM) - Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) - Supply Chain Management (SCM) PAPER SUBMISSION Guidelines for paper preparation and submission are available at the conference website: http://www.uco.es/isda2011/ ORGANIZERS - Antonio D.
