=========================================================== CALL FOR ABSTRACTS AND PAPERS Statistical, Computational and Visualization Methods in Medical Informatics Conference June 3-4, 2011, Clarke University, Dubuque, Iowa http://www.clarke.edu/scvmmi =========================================================== This two-day national medical informatics conference will explore recent advances to understand, improve and analyze the impact of medical data analysis on treating and better understanding human diseases. Health care professionals, clinical researchers, and scientists will discuss and present new developments in determining efficient models to explore treatments and disease patterns related to major epidemic diseases such as cancer and HIV. KEYNOTE SPEAKERS Dr. Michael Coen, University of Wisconsin Dr. Dianne Cook, Iowa State University Dr. Frank Graziano, University of Wisconsin & Joint Clinical Research Center, Kampala, Uganda. Dr. Mary Sara McPeek, University of Chicago Dr. Robert Shafer , Stanford University Dr. George Weiner, The University of Iowa ABSTRACTS AND PAPERS Authors are invited to submit abstracts that demonstrate original unpublished research in all areas of biomedical informatics. Surveys of important recent results and directions are also welcome. Authors of accepted abstracts may submit a paper. The three top papers will be announced at the conference, and winning authors will be reimbursed for publication costs if the paper is published before June 4, 2012 in a top tier journal. Topics of interest include but are not limited to: Genetic Data Analysis * Genome-Phenome Analysis * Gene expression changes in adaptive immune response * Comparative approaches to immunology * Immunogenomics Software Developments in Medical Informatics * Machine learning for colossal datasets * Visualization and graphical methods for data mining and model diagnostics * Decision support systems in health and medical care * Biomedical Signal/Image Analysis * Immunoinformatics Databases, Knowledge Bases, Ontologies Statistical and Computational Methods in Medical Informatics * Statistical and computational modeling in Biomedical Intelligence, Immune Systems, Clinical Datasets, and Electronic Health Record * Drug and vaccine design including biomarker discovery and epitope analysis and prediction * Multi-agent based modeling of immune response HOW TO SUBMIT Abstract submissions must be made electronically to scvmmi@clarke.edu. Please include the names and affiliations of all authors, the title of the work, preferred presentation mode (talk/poster), and the corresponding author information (phone number, current position, and preferred e-mail address for notification). Submission implies the willingness of at least one of the authors to register and present the work.
