Conference Introduction
The Fifth International Workshop on Signal Design and its Applications in Communications (IWSDA'11) will be held at Guilin (China), a major tourist destination with the most beautiful scenery under heaven (http://www.visitguilin.org), on October 10-14, 2011. The workshop IWSDA was started in September 2001, and then was held in Yamaguchi, Japan in 2005; in Chengdu, China in 2007; in Fukuoka, Japan in 2009. The aim of these workshops is to foster fruitful interactions among signal designers, coding theorists, cryptographic researchers, and communication engineers from all over the world. Conference Topics Discrete signal design plays a very important role in widespread applications, such as spread spectrum, code division multiple access, cryptography, channel estimations, synchronization, optimal detections, etc. The topics of this workshop include, but are not limited to, the following: New Concepts in Signal Design Sequences and Cryptography Discrete Signal Designs and Characteristics Sequences and Error Control Theoretical Signal Bounds Approximately Synchronous CDMA Systems Signal design and Finite Fields/Rings GPS and Other Positioning Signals Randomness of Signals Signals for UWB/OFDMA /Powerline Systems Multi-dimensional Signal Design Signals for Multiple-terminal/Radar Systems Signal Acquisition and Tracking Channel Estimation, Detection & Synchronization Spread-Spectrum and CDMA Applications DSP/FPGA/ASIC Implementation Issues |
