CALL FOR PAPERS
The 1st International Workshop on Machine Learning and Semantic Web Technologies (MLSW 2011) 7 ~ 9 September 2011 | Tirana, Albania https://sites.google.com/site/mlsw2011/ In conjunction with the The 2-nd International Conference on Emerging Intelligent Data and Web Technologies (EIDWT 2011) http://voyager.ce.fit.ac.jp/~eidwt2011/ Important dates ============================================================ * Abstract submission: 30 March 2011 * Paper submission: 7 April 2011 * Notification 30 April 2011 * Camera-ready: 15 May 2011 * Registration: 10 June 2011 * Workshop day: To be announce (between 7 - 9 Septemebr 2011) Overview ============================================================ The 1st International Workshop on Machine Learning and Semantic Web Technologies will be held as part of the 2-nd International Conference on Emerging Intelligent Data and Web Technologies. The primary goal of the workshop is to bring together researchers and practitioners interested the interdisciplinary research on Machine Learning and Semantic Web Technologies. The workshop is conceived to provide a meeting point for the related communities to stimulate collaboration and enable cross-fertilization of ideas. The Semantic Web is often perceived to be a global, distributed database of meaningfully represented data. The heterogeneity of these resources and inherently open, distributed, and incomplete nature of the Web environment pose problems for deductive approaches, traditionally employed to reason with logic-based ontological data. Therefore, new, complementary forms of reasoning are needed on the Semantic Web, such as inductive reasoning. Moreover, such new approaches would be able to deal with scalability issues, and complexity and expressiveness of the representation languages. Topics of interest ============================================================ The topics of interest of the workshop include, but are not limited to: · Novel Machine Learning models and algorithms · Large/Complex Machine Learning Environments for the Web · Machine Learning for the Semantic Web · Web mining for the Semantic Web · Statistical learning for the Semantic Web · Knowledge Discovery and Ontologies · Machine Learning and Data Mining for Social Networks · Novel Semantic Web Technologies · Machine Learning and Semantic Web technologies for sensors, situational awareness and multimedia. · Machine Learning and Semantic Web technologies for grids, P2P, services and middleware · Social Semantic Web Applications Invited speaker ============================================================ To be announced Paper submission ============================================================ The contributed papers, written in English, should be submitted in PDF, not exceeding the following limits * 6 pages (full papers) * 4 pages (position papers) following the standard double-column format of the IEEE Conference Proceedings Manuscript. All submissions will be reviewed by at least 2 referees. Proceedings of the workshop will be published by the IEEE Computer Society's Conference Publishing Services (CPS) Organizing Committee ============================================================ * Marenglen Biba - University of University of New York, Tirana, Albania * Claudia d'Amato, University of Bari, Italy Program Committee ============================================================ * Stefan Brüggemann - OFFIS, Germany * Nicola Fanizzi - University of Bari, Italy * Chiara Ghidini - FBK Trento, Italy * Agnieszka Ławrynowicz - Poznan University of Technology, Poland * Viviana Mascardi - University of Genova * Mikolaj Morzy - Poznan University of Technology, Poland * Baris Sertkaya - SAP Research Dresden, Germany * Luca Spalazzi - Politecnic University of Marche, Italy * Eloisa Vargiu - University of Cagliari, Italy (to be extended) Further information ============================================================ https://sites.google.com/site/mlsw2011/ |
