2009 Symposium and Summer School on Wireless Communications June 3-5, 2009 Sponsored by: Wireless at Virginia Tech, Continuing and Professional Education, and the following Industrial Affiliate Companies: ANALOG DEVICES • APPLIED SIGNAL TECHNOLOGY • DIGITAL RECEIVER TECHNOLOGY DRS TECHNOLOGIES • EF JOHNSON • QUALCOMM • ROCKWELL COLLINS SYRACUSE RESEARCH CORPORATION • THALES COMMUNICATIONS TYCO ELECTRONICS • ZETA ASSOCIATES On June 3-5, 2009, Wireless @ Virginia Tech will host its 19th annual symposium and summer school on wireless communi- cations on the Virginia Tech campus in Blacksburg, VA. Both university and industry partners will present oral presentations, poster sessions, and tutorials. Authors are invited to submit abstracts for oral presentations and tutorials. Papers not accepted as oral presentations may be accepted as poster presentations. Abstracts for oral presentations should describe original work, and proposals for tutorials should include a descripton of the tutorial and material to be distributed to partici- pants. The following topics or related areas will be considered for presentation: Antennas Position Location Channel Measurements Radio Resource Management Channel Modeling Reconfigurable Computing Cognitive Radio/Networks RF Circuit Design Collaborative Radio RF Material-Characterization Cross Layer Optimization RF Systems Femtocell Deployment Satellite Systems Game Theory Analysis Security Hybrid Wireless/Fiber Optic/Powerline Systems Sensor Networking Interference Cancellation Simulation Tools Land Mobile Radio Smart Antennas and Diversity Schemes MEMS Software Radio MIMO UWB Network Protocol Design VLSI Implementation Networking Wearable Computing and Communications Abstracts and tutorial proposals should be limited to 500 words. They must be submitted electronically and must include the title, author’s name, mailing address, email address, and telephone number. Symposium information, including the author’s kit, will be posted to the web site at www.wireless.vt.edu as plans are finalized.
