This special issue aims to report latest advancements in the highly interdisciplinary research and development area of computer vision, with applications in the area of health, biomedical, surveillance, bio-systems, and special environments.

Topics of primary interest include, but are not limited to:
Medical image analysis
Content-based image and video retrieval
Action and event recognition
Security and human activity analysis
Artificial intelligence for machine vision
Vision for robotics
Vision-based navigation and guidance system
Vision-based 3-D measurement techniques
Applications on elderly care, smart vehicles, intelligent buildings, and bio-systems
