The 5th International Conference on Indoor Positioning and Indoor Navigation (IPIN) will host a Ph.D. Forum that will provide an opportunity for Ph.D. students to present their research to the IPIN community and receive individual feedback from leading researchers in the field. To motivate interaction between Ph.D. students and experts both from academia and industry the Forum will be organized as a poster session during the main conference.
We encourage submissions from all students who have not yet received their Ph.D. degrees, including Early Stage Ph.D. students presenting work in progress, as well as Advanced Ph.D. students who plan to graduate in 2014-2015. Students are expected to submit a 2-page extended abstract about their dissertation research on the same topics of interest as the main IPIN 2014 conference to be considered for the Forum. Early Stage Ph.D. submissions should clearly state the application domain and the problem addressed, the outline of the methodological approach, the research carried so far, as well as the expected or any preliminary scientific results. Advanced Ph.D. submissions should additionally include the contributions made so far and the work pending until graduation. The student should be the sole author, although contributions of the advisor and others should be acknowledged. Submissions will be reviewed by the Ph.D. Forum Committee to ensure quality, relevance, and potential benefit from attendance to the Forum. Authors of accepted submissions are expected to participate in person and to present a poster at the Forum. LOCATION AND TIME: The IPIN Ph.D. Forum will take place on October 28, 2014 and is part of IPIN 2014 conference to be held at BEXCO, Busan,Korea. Submissions: Only active Ph.D. students are eligible to submit their contributions to IPIN 2014 Ph.D. Forum. All submitted abstracts shall also include a one-paragraph bio of the student, along with the advisor’s name, as well as information on how long the student has been in Ph.D. school and the expected graduation time. Submissions must be received no later than the submission deadline via the submission site (https://edas.info/N18471).
