International Conference on Advances in ICT for Emerging Regions
ICTer 2010 Colombo, Sri Lanka 29th, 30th September and 01st October 2010 International Conference on Advances in ICT for Emerging Regions (ICTer) is the successor to the seminal International Information Technology Conference held in Sri Lanka since 1998, the IITC. It provides a platform where research done in ICT is presented by both local and foreign Computer Scientists and IT Professionals. In order to get wider international participation and to promote computing research in the fast emerging regions of the world especially in Asia-Pacific, it decided to broadbase the conference and link it with the related International Journal ICTer (www.icter.org). The proceedings of ICTer2010 will be published in both book and online versions with selected papers invited for publication in the ICTer Journal. The call for papers, extended abstracts and proposals for tutorials/workshop together with other relevant details are available at www.icter.org/icter2010. This year the conference will take place in Colombo, Sri Lanka on Wednesday 29th, Thursday 30th September and Friday 1st October 2010. In addition to the presentation of selected full papers and extended abstracts, several keynote addresses by leading personalities in the IT world will be made. The conference will be followed by several high quality tutorials/workshops in areas of current interest in Information and Communication Technology. The conference and tutorials/workshops will focus on important problems and potential solutions in areas of ICT including but not limited to the following: * Virtualization and Cloud Computing * Web 2.0, Web 3.0 and beyond * Embedded Systems and Sensor Networks * HCI and Affective Computing * Agile and Collaborative Software Development * Next Generation Networks * Language Processing and Localization * Innovative Applications of ICT * FOSS Application Development * Software Licensing and Creative Commons * Mobile communication technologies * Building Online Learning Communities * Augmented Reality and Virtual Worlds * Emergent Intelligence and Computational Learning * e-Government and Rural ICT Applications * Information System Security, Privacy and Legal Issue Full Papers should describe the results of completed research, while Extended Abstracts may report cutting-edge technology deployment or incomplete but promising research. Proposals for Tutorials/Workshop in areas of current interest are also invited. |
