ICC 2027 - IEEE International Conference on Communications: Communications Software & Multimedia https://icc2027.ieee-icc.org/sites/default/files/downloads/2026-06/icc-2027-cfp_csm_0.pdf Link to submit Your paper: https://edas.info/N35505 Important Dates Paper Submission: October 2, 2026 Acceptance Notification: January 15, 2027 Camera-Ready Papers: February 19, 2027 Symposium Co-Chairs Luigi Atzori, University of Cagliari, Italy, l.atzori@unica.it Marco Savi, University of Milano-Bicocca, Italy, marco.savi@unimib.it Scope and Motivation Recent advances in communication networks have paved the way from hardware centric infrastructures to software defined and virtualized platforms. This transformation, combined with the emergence of AI and immersive media, is enabling novel, flexible, intelligent, personalized, and adaptive communication paradigms and applications. For instance, recent learning based representations allow scenes to be captured and rendered with high realism, enabling free viewpoint video generation. In addition, generative AI models facilitate the generation of synthetic media, enabling advanced forms of multimedia communication. However, these opportunities also introduce new challenges for communication software, including real time neural rendering, adaptive transmission of high dimensional data, and integration with edge/cloud computing and programmable network infrastructures. This symposium aims to solicit research that addresses the software, algorithmic, and system level challenges involved in supporting services and multimedia applications across the network stack. It provides an opportunity for experts from academia and industry to discuss current and future developments in multimedia technologies and communication software, share knowledge, and present their latest research Topics of Interest This track solicits technical papers describing original, previously unpublished papers on trends, issues, and challenges of advanced multimedia service delivery and management, and for the deployment of multimedia communications over fixed, mobile and heterogeneous networks. You are invited to submit research paper(s) related to the following topics of interest (but not limited to): * Quality in Services and Multimedia Applications Enhancing User Experience in Multimedia Applications Quality of Service (QoS) Management in Cloud-Based Services AI-Driven Quality Optimization in Streaming Services Quality of Experience (QoE) in Augmented and Virtual Reality Applications Latency Reduction Techniques for Real-Time Multimedia Applications Quality Assurance in 5G-Enabled Multimedia Services End-to-End Quality Management in loT Services Adaptive Multimedia Streaming for Mobile Devices Improving Video and Audio Quality through Machine Learning Energy-Efficient Quality Optimization in loT Networks Security as a Quality Factor in Multimedia Applications Optimizing Real-Time Data Processing for High-Quality Services Cloud and Edge Computing for Enhanced Multimedia Quality Automated Quality Assessment in Digital Services Privacy-Preserving Quality Monitoring in Online Services Content Delivery Networks (CDN) and Multimedia Quality Improving User-Centric Quality in Smart City Services * Network Softwarization & Intelligent Services Network Function Virtualization (NFV) and its Impact on Service Delivery Software-Defined Networking (SDN) for Enhanced Network Services Data Plane Programmability for Advanced Service Delivery 5G and Beyond: Leveraging Network Softwarization for Improved Services Edge Computing in Network Softwarization: Challenges and Opportunities Cloud-Native Network Architectures and Service Automation Security Challenges in Network Softwarization and Virtualized Environments Al-Driven Automation in Network Softwarization for Efficient Service Management Orchestration of Network Services in Softwarized Environments Service Chaining and Resource Allocation in Virtualized Networks QoS and QoE in Software-Defined and Virtualized Networks Zero-Touch Service Management in Softwarized Networks Energy-Efficient Network Softwarization for Sustainable Services Multi-Access Edge Computing (MEC) for Low-Latency Services Interoperability and Standardization in Network Softwarization * Multimedia Systems and Services Real-Time Multimedia Streaming and Optimization Multimedia Streaming, Multicast and Broadcast Services 360-degree Video Streaming lmmersive Multimedia Experiences in Virtual/Augmented/Mixed Reality Multimedia Content Adaptation for Diverse Platforms Al and Machine Learning in Multimedia Systems Multimedia Compression Techniques and Standards Content Delivery Networks (CDNs) for Multimedia Services Interactive Multimedia Systems and Applications Multimedia Systems for Smart Cities and loT Cloud-Based Multimedia Services and Scalability 5G and Beyond for Enhanced Multimedia Services Edge Computing for Low-Latency Multimedia Processing Security and Privacy in Multimedia Systems Multimedia Systems for E-Learning and Remote Collaboration Adaptive Quality of Service (QoS) in Multimedia Services Multimedia Systems for Telemedicine and Healthcare Applications Blockchain for Secure Multimedia Content Delivery Audio-Visual Synchronization in Multimedia Systems Crowdsourced Multimedia Content and Service Quality Future Trends in Interactive and Social Multimedia Systems Multimedia Communication over Fixed and Mobile Networks Multimedia Communication over Non-Terrestrial Networks * Service Management Al-Driven Service Management Automation Cloud Service Management and Optimization Service Management in Multi-Cloud Environments Predictive Analytics in Service Management Service Lifecycle Management in loT Ecosystems Blockchain for Transparent Service Management Managing Quality of Experience (QoE) in Digital Services Incident and Problem Management in IT Services Service Management for 5G and Next-Gen Networks Sustainability and Green IT Service Management Data-Driven Decision-Making in Service Management |
