Call For Papers

The embedded and high-performance computing domains are on a collision course. The embedded market evolves rapidly, quickly expanding the capabilities of new devices, and the requirements of these new applications demand techniques that, not long ago, were in the realm of high-performance computing. Conversely, the energy constraints have now become a dominant criterion of general-purpose computing systems and demand techniques such as customization, which have always been central to the embedded world. At the same time, both domains are facing tremendous technology constraints which force to deeply revisit architecture, programming approaches, and the whole software stack. The HiPEAC conference provides a forum for experts in computer architecture, programming models, compilers and operating systems for embedded and general-purpose systems. We especially encourage papers describing either cross-cutting research (embedded/high-performance, architecture/software stack, etc) or innovative ideas (new programming models, novel architecture approaches to cope with technology constraints or new technologies, etc).

Topics of interest for HIPEAC include, but are not limited to:

* Processor and multi-core architectures (core, memory system, interconnects,...)

* Heterogeneous multi-cores

* Accelerators (ASICs, GPUs, ASIPs,...)

* Domain/Application specific systems

* Reconfigurable architectures, tools and systems

* Compiler techniques for processors, multi-cores and application/domain-specific architectures

* Programming models for multi-cores and application/domain-specific architectures

* Dynamic, adaptive and continuous optimization and compilation

* Interaction between operating systems and programming models, compilers, architectures

* Tools and techniques for simulation and performance analysis

* Program and workload characterization

* Emerging applications

* Emerging computing platforms (data centers, game consoles, smartphones,...)

* Introduction of novel technologies in current computing systems (3D stacking, photonics, analog VLSI,...)

* Novel architecture and programming paradigms for current or future technologies

Abstracts are due on Thursday May 20th, 2010 and final papers are due Thursday May 27th, 2010, in usual conference format, two columns, 10 pages, see http://www.hipeac.net/hipeac2011 for more information on submission format. All submissions will be made electronically and no extension will be granted.
