The 13th International Conference on Optical Networking Design and
Modeling - IFIP/IEEE ONDM 2009 - will be held in Braunschweig (Brunswick), Germany, on Feb 18-20, 2009. http://www.ida.ing.tu-bs.de/ondm2009/ Submission deadline: OCT 15, 2008 As it is established practice at ONDM, the 13th installment will focus on cutting-edge, state-of-the-art research in optical networking and newly emerging areas. ONDM will also encourage submissions of the research papers that relate the topics of optical networking to the other areas and disciplines, such as integration of optical and wireless networks or the role of optical network for the future Internet design. Controversial ideas and approaches and their open discussion are strongly encouraged. Moreover, ONDM in Braunschweig will contribute to the community strengthening by inciting interactivity among the senior and junior participants as well as among the industrial and academic participants, in Europe and internationally. Paper submissions should not exceed 6 pages in double-column IEEE proceedings style. Topics include but are not limited to: * New optical network architectures * Optical network performance modeling * Optical network control and management * Novel architectures for optical routers and switches * Measurement, monitoring and supervision techniques * Optical access networks designs and protocols * High speed optical LANs and gigabit Ethernet * Optical networks for future Internet design * Security and privacy in optical networks * Energy efficiency in optical networks * Inter-working between optical and wireless networks * Optical integrated circuits and novel transmission methods * Economic, regulations and migration studies * Field trials, new applications and experiments Author guidelines The ONDM 2009 papers will be electronically published by IEEE Xplore. Authors must submit their papers as a PDF file through EDAS. A limited amount of travel grants will be available to the authors and the executive committee will select the Best Paper Award.
