Call For Papers

The series of SUM conferences provides an international forum for the communication of research advances in the management of uncertain, incomplete or inconsistent information. The SUM conference has been held annually since 2007.

Papers are solicited in all areas of managing and reasoning with substantial and complex kinds of uncertain data, including (but not restricted to) applications in databases, decision-support systems, negotiation technologies, semantic web applications, search engines, ontology systems, information retrieval, natural language processing, information extraction, image recognition, vision systems, text mining, and data mining.

Submission guidelines

Submissions must be formatted according to Springerís guidelines for LNCS authors, which can be found at http://www.springer.de/comp/lncs/authors.html. The first page should contain the full name and contact information of at least one of the authors. Each paper is to be submitted electronically as a single PDF file through EasyChair at EasyChair.

SUM 2014 solicits papers in two categories:

Regular research papers.
Short papers reporting on interesting work in progress or providing system descriptions.

Submissions in the first category should be at most fourteen pages, including bibliography. Submissions in the second category should be at most six pages, including bibliography. Papers not respecting these formatting instructions or page limits risk rejection without consideration of their merits.

The results must be unpublished and not submitted elsewhere.

All submitted papers will be reviewed by the Program Committee on the basis of technical quality, relevance, significance, and clarity. Authors of an accepted paper will be expected to sign copyright release forms, and one author is expected to present it at the conference. As with all previous editions of SUM, the accepted papers will be published in LNCS/LNAI in the series Lecture Notes in Artificial Intelligence.
