Call For Papers

International Symposium on Wireless Pervasive Computing (ISWPC 2009)

11 - 13th February 2009, Melbourne, Australia.

http://www.ispwc.org/2009/

Wireless pervasive computing is a rapidly growing area that has attracted significant attention due to its potential impact on the quality of life. To enable wireless pervasive computing, it is necessary to integrate technologies from the fields of distributed computing, networking, communications and signal processing. The aim of this symposium is to provide a platform for researchers in the area of wireless pervasive computing and related areas to showcase their results, launch new ideas, as well as to interact with other researchers.

The scope of the symposium, which is technically co-sponsored by several IEEE Technical Committees (pending approval), covers enabling technologies of wireless pervasive computing Networks. A series of panels and tutorials will also seek to inform and invoke interaction among researchers

Extended versions of selected best papers will be considered for Special issues of a high quality international journal and also in Journal of Security and Communication Networks published by John Wiley & Sons.

Sessions will include but are NOT LIMITED to the following TOPICS OF INTEREST:

- Context-aware computing

- Cross-layer design

- Green Pervasive computing

- Security in Wireless and Pervasive systems

- Wearable Devices

- Sensors and RFID in Pervasive systems

- Sensors in Environment monitoring

- UWB

- Sensors and RFID in Health Care

- Multimedia in Wireless networks

- Wireless Network and architecture designs

- wireless smart vehicle systems and networking ? WiMAX

- Cognitive Radio systems

- MIMO systems

- Cooperative communications systems

- PCS, GPRS, EDGE, 3GPP, UMTS, GSM and B3G systems

- Localization and tracking techniques

- Pervasive computing applications

- Pervasive communication architecture

- QoS Support in wireless systems

- Air interfaces (e.g. CDMA, OFDM, TDMA)

- Fault-tolerant and resilient sensor networks

- Pervasive e-services

- wireless smart artifacts

PAPER SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

Authors should submit papers with about 4 pages (short papers) and 5 pages (regular papers) by using online submission system. Please use IEEE CS format for submission. A separate short summary of approximately 150 words is also required at the time of submission. All submissions must be done electronically via EDAS (http://edas.info) before the submission deadline. Authors of accepted papers must register at full rate by 5th of December 2008, for the papers to be included in the proceedings.

SPECIAL SESSIONS & PANEL SESSIONS

Proposals for Special Sessions and Panel Sessions are also being solicited. Panel sessions are 60 minutes long. They present leaders in a particular area discussing a topic of interest within the scope of the symposium. Proposals for Special Sessions and Panel sessions should consist of a 150 word abstract, a 1000 word summary, and a cover page listing details of the author (s), and be sent directly to the respective chairs.
