The 10th International Workshop on Fuzzy Logic and Applications (WILF 2013) covers all topics in theoretical, experimental and applied fuzzy techniques and systems. It is aimed to bring together researchers and developers from both academia and industry to report on the latest scientific and theoretical advances in this field, and to demonstrate the state-of-the-art systems. WILF series is also aimed to highlight connections and synergies of Fuzzy Sets Theory with other Computational Intelligence paradigms (such as neural networks, evolutionary computation, support vector machines, natural computing, quantum computing) and Cognitive Science (e.g. psychology, philosophy, neuroscience, linguistics), in order to reach a better understanding of both natural and artificial complex systems as well as computing systems, inspired by nature, which are able to solve complex problems.
A major objective of WILF 2013 in the present rich data era is the presentation of the consolidated results and of potential applications of fuzzy sets and fuzzy systems in the analysis of high dimensional data and of complex networks. To approach these difficult tasks, fuzzy techniques are often integrated with other Computational Intelligence methods, and with other computational techniques and ontologies, giving rise to powerful computational approaches able to address data analysis issues specific of emergent relevant areas like Bioinformatics, Ambient Assisted Living, Image Analysis, Activity Analysis and Recognition, and Emotional Computing. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to: Theory and Methodology: Fuzzy Sets; Rough Sets; Possibility Theory; Fuzzy Logic; Fuzzy Systems; Neuro-Fuzzy Systems; Interpretability of Fuzzy Systems; Representation of Vague and Imprecise Knowledge; Fuzzy Evolutionary Algorithms; Fuzzy Image Processing; Fuzzy Pattern Recognition; Fuzzy Data Fusion; Intuitionistic Fuzzy Sets; Fuzzy Approaches for High Dimensional Data Analysis. Applications: Ambient Assisted Living; Bioinformatics; Broadcasting; Control; Communications; Information Retrieval; Intelligent Resource Management; Knowledge Management; Health; Opto-mechatronics; Recommendation and Personalization; Remote Sensing; Robotics; Semantic Web; Speech Analysis; Television; Telepresence; User profiling; Virtual Reality; Activity Analysis and Recognition; Emotional Computing; Complex Networks Analysis. Implementations: Analog and Digital Circuits and Systems; Architectures and VLSI Hardware; Programmable Processors; Soft Grid Computing; Commercial Software. Proceedings of WILF 2013 will published by an international publisher. A selection of papers will be peer reviewed for originality, technical contents and relevance and will be considered for publication in special issues of journals. |
