Introduction ---------------------- The 2012 International Workshop on Agent, Social Networks, and Ubiquitous Computing (ASNUC 2012) will be held in Vancouver, Canada, June 26-28, 2012. In ubiquitous computing environments providing appropriate services and information to users at the right place in the right way is challenging for many reasons: different user interests, heterogeneous devices and services, dynamic networks, information overload, or differing privacy levels, for example. Agent technology is a paradigm expected to play an increasing role in complex computing environments, and due to the increasing popularity of social networking services we expect to see the convergence of agent and social web technologies. The goal of this theme issue is to bring together state-of-the-art research contributions that examine the convergence of agent technologies and social networks for Ubiquitous Computing --------------------------------------------- TOPICS (included, but are not limited to) ---------------------------------------------- - Agent-oriented frameworks, methods and tools for SOA - Agent-based service description, matchmaking, discovery, and brokering - Embodied agents and agent-based systems applications - Agent-based system development - Agent cooperation and negotiation - Agent reasoning - Agent-based service business models and case studies for ubiquitous computing - Automatic discovery and analysis of social networks - Deployment and distribution of agent-based service systems - Intelligent social networks - Personalized services with agent adaptation - Practical experiences in using and applying agents for social network Social networks and social intelligence - Social network mining ----------------------------- SUBMISSION and Publications ------------------------------ ==Submission Guidelines== All submissions must be written in English. They must contain no information identifying the author(s) or their affiliation(s). All papers must be submitted in an electronic format which conforms to the workshop proceedings style and submitted as DOC or PDF files. Papers must strictly adhere to page limits ( 5 pages for paper , max 2 extra pages allowed at additional cost). Papers exceeding the page limits will be rejected without review. All submissions must be made electronically : http://www.editorialsystem.net/asnuc2012/ ==Proceedings and Publication== First, materials (PPT) for presentation of accepted papers will be included in a workshop proceeding. As you can see the CFP, final version of all accepted and presented papers in this workshop will be included in the following international journal indexed by SCIE. We are planning to accept about many high quality papers for this workshop, and all of them, after presentation at the workshop, will be included in the journal. All papers will be published by Special Issue of Personal and Ubiquitous Computing - Springer indexed by SCIE (Impact Factor: 1.137). ----------------- Important Dates ----------------- Step 1: Conference Process Full Paper Submission due: April 15, 2012 (Extended) Conference Author notification: May 15, 2012 (Extended) Authors Registration due: May 30, 2012 Revised paper due: May 30, 2012 (Paper, Reply Letter, Presentation Slides) Conference days: June 26-28, 2012 Step 2: Journal Process Final Journal notification: July 15, 2012 Camera-ready paper due: July 30, 2012 Journal Publication: 4th Quarter, 2012 (Tentative) -------------- ORGANIZATION -------------- ==General Chair== James J.
