C A L L F O R P A P E R S Eighth International Workshop on Information Integration on the Web (IIWeb2011) in conjunction with WWW 2011 March 28, 2011, HICC, Hyderabad, India http://research.ihost.com/iiweb11/index.html ============================================================================================ *** Submission deadline: Feb 6, 2011 *** Submission Site Open: https://cmt.research.microsoft.com/IIWeb2011/ ============================================================================================ Cyber-physical systems (CPS) are physical and engineered systems whose operations are monitored, coordinated, controlled and integrated by a computing and communication core. This intimate coupling between the cyber and physical will be manifested from the nano-world to large-scale wide-area systems. The internet transformed how humans interact and communicate with one another, revolutionized how and where information is accessed, and even changed how people buy and sell products. Similarly, CPS will transform how humans interact with and control the physical world around us. Examples of CPS include medical devices and systems, aerospace systems, transportation vehicles and intelligent highways, defense systems, robotic systems, process control, factory automation, building and environmental control and smart spaces. CPS interact with the physical world, and must operate dependably, safely, securely, and efficiently and in real-time. This workshop, eighth in the IIWeb series, is focused on making the research in information integration on the web more relevant to the challenges in cyber physical systems that will be built to solve the critical problems that arise when we want to build a sustainable ecosystem for life on our planet. Topics of interest, include, but are not restricted to: ? Knowledge representation in cyber physical systems ? Challenges in efficiently managing sensor data ? Challenges with managing and integrating real-time and historical data ? Novel data acquisition mechanisms such as crowd sourcing ? Mining spatio-temporal patterns and prediction of future trends ? Issues in scaling out integration solutions ? Case Studies, successes, lessons learnt ? Sharing of data ? policy needs, security concerns, incentives IMPORTANT DATES Manuscripts due: February 6, 2011 Notification of acceptance: February 27, 2011 Final revised manuscript: March 12, 2011 Workshop: March 28, 2011 SUBMISSION GUIDELINES We welcome original, unpublished manuscripts of upto 6 pages (2 column format) inclusive of all references and figures.
