DAFx – First Call for Participation

Dear Colleagues,

We would like to announce the 14th International Conference on Digital Audio Effects, which will be held at Ircam Paris from Monday 19th to Friday 23rd September 2011.

The DAFx conference is a meeting of all enthusiasts working in various research areas on audio signal processing, acoustics, and music related disciplines, who come together annually to present and discuss their scientific and practical findings. To provide an intensive exchange between all participants, the schedule of DAFx-11 will also include a social program and concerts for all participants.

The conference will be divided into oral presentations (keynotes and submissions), poster sessions, and (hands-on) tutorials.

Original contributions are encouraged in, but not limited to, the following topics:

General considerations on audio signal processing, acoustics, and music
Capture and analysis of audio signals and acoustic fields
Representation and Transform,
Transmission and Resynthesis,
Synthesis and Modeling,
Digital audio effect processing,
Perception and evaluation
Sound design and music composition

The DAFx-11 team encourages contributions on:

Interaction
Cognition and evaluation
Audio indexing and use of audio indexing for Digital Audio FX
STAR (state-of-the-art) papers: DAFx-11 especially encourages the submission of papers, which provide an up-to-date overview and global perspective of a certain research area. Please note that only a few STAR papers can be selected.

Submission

Prospective authors are required to prepare and submit a full-length paper, including figures and references according to one of the following two formats.

Oral presentations: 8 pages maximum, 20 minutes for presentation (15 min talk +5 min discussion)
Poster presentations: 4 pages maximum
Procedures to submit papers, posters, and demo sessions are detailed at the conference website http://dafx11.ircam.fr. Final papers must be camera-ready conforming to the format specified on the submission website.

All submissions are subject to a peer review. The accepted contributions will be published in the Conference Proceedings, which will be made freely accessible on the conference website.

The official language of the conference is English.

Important dates

Full- Paper Submission Deadline: Friday March 11th, 2011
Notification of Acceptance: Tuesday May 31st, 2011
Final Paper Submission Deadline: Friday June 24th, 2011

Call for Tutorials and Satellite Workshop DAFX 2011 Ircam, Paris, France

Monday September 19th afternoon will be dedicated to tutorials.
Proposals for tutorial topics (related to the fields of DAFX-2011) and presenters should be send by Tuesday March, 1st, 2011.

Friday September 23rd will be dedicated to satellite workshops.
Proposals for workshop topics (related to the fields of DAFX-2011), form and participants should be send by Tuesday March, 1st, 2011.
