Call for Papers – Special Issue of the Journal of Adult and Continuing Education
Guest Editors: Dr. Sonia David & Dr. Anupama Sadasivan Adult learners often navigate educational systems while experiencing trauma, social inequality, migration, health challenges, caregiving responsibilities, discrimination, and other forms of marginalisation. This Special Issue invites scholarship examining how trauma-informed and inclusive approaches can transform adult and continuing education through pedagogical innovation, institutional change, leadership, policy, and lifelong learning practices. We welcome empirical, theoretical, conceptual, and review-based contributions addressing topics such as trauma-informed pedagogy, learner wellbeing, equity and intersectionality, institutional culture and leadership, community and workplace learning, structural and historical dimensions of trauma, decolonial and justice-oriented education, and digital learning environments. Submissions from Global South contexts and underrepresented regions are particularly encouraged. Abstract Submission: 300–500 words (APA format) plus a 100-word author biography.
