Call For Papers | |||||||||||||||
The 2011 IEEE/RSJ International Conference on Intelligent Robots and Systems (IROS 2011) will be held in San Francisco, California, USA, during September 25-30, 2011. The theme of the conference will be Human-Centered Robotics, and its format will feature innovations in the form of interactive multimedia presentations and special-topic symposia celebrating 50 years of robotics.
Papers Authors should submit their papers electronically in PDF format via Paperplaza. Six pages in the standard IEEE format are allowed for each paper, including figures. A maximum of two additional pages is permitted at a charge of USD 185 per extra page. All papers are reviewed using a single-blind review process: authors declare their names and affiliations in the manuscript for the reviewers to see, but reviewers do not know each other's identities, nor do the authors receive information about who has reviewed their manuscript. Multimedia Presentations A selected number of papers will be carefully chosen by the program committee for interactive multimedia presentation, in addition to a brief talk during a regular session. Thus, authors of papers so selected will gain opportunities to engage small groups of conference attendees at a time, showing videos and slides, and intensely discussing their work with their peers. 50 Years of Robotics Symposia The conference will feature 12 special symposia celebrating 50 years of robotics. Each symposium will be associated with a subfield of robotics and consist of six papers in the subfield that will be reviewed as regular papers. We invite proposals for special symposia. Proposals for organizing symposia should be submitted through Paperplaza as "Invited Sessions". Workshops and Tutorials Proposals for half-day or full-day tutorials and workshops should include: statement of objectives, intended audience, list of speakers, and list of topics. These should be submitted via the Paperplaza submission site for the conference. Exhibits There will be an exhibition site at the conference. Further information for prospective exhibitors is will be available on the exhibits page.
