Call For Papers

The protection of neurons that are intrinsically vulnerable to diseases such as Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, ALS or are at risk of death due to stroke or traumatic injury is an area of immense importance. In recent years, inflammation, the blood brain barrier, stem cells, hormones and epigenetic factors have all been implicated in the rescue of neurons. Understanding these varied and complex mechanisms and the pathways they use is critical to developing interventions to preserve brain function in the diseased or injured brain.

Topics covered include:

BBB, transporters and the neurovascular unit
Cell therapy as a neuroprotective strategy
Epigenetics and therapeutic targets for neuroprotection
Hormones in neuroprotection
Pathways of protection in neurodegeneration and neuroprotection
Targeting Inflammation in neuroprotection
Translating neuroprotection to the clinic

Please, submit your abstracts by 27th June 2014.
