The 3rd Bioforphys conference will focus on energy and information in biology. In particular, we aim to establish a wide-ranging interdisciplinary forum for researchers to discuss ideas on how our current understanding of physics can contribute to understanding how energy processing, in the form of heat, work, and information, impacts biology across the molecular, cellular, and organismic scales. We anticipate organizing a fantastic, interdisciplinary, and inspiring conference featuring the most relevant topics and outstanding speakers in the field. Join us in Barcelona for an inspiring, multidisciplinary meeting with exceptional speakers and cutting-edge ideas.
Topics: 1. Energy and information in cells 2. Noise and information processing in cells, tissues, and brains 3. Information–energy conversion and entropy production 4. Molecular processes: machines, folding, self-assembly 5. Mechanics, landscapes, and information in development Organized by the DPL and SNP divisions of the European Physical Society. Chair: Felix Ritort (Conference Chair and Division of Physics for Life Sciences-DPL, EPS) Raffaella Burioni (Conference Co-Chair, Statistical and Nonlinear Physics Division-SNPD, EPS) Jaume Casademunt (Conference Co-Chair, Universitat de Barcelona) International Advisory Committee: Marco Baiesi (Università di Padua, Italy) Gili Bisker (Tel Aviv University, Israel) Fred Mackintosh (Rice University, Houston, USA) Matteo Marsili (ICTP, Trieste, Italy) Andrea Puglisi (CNR, Rome, Italy) Chantal Valeriani (Universidad Complutense de Madrid, Spain) Local and EPS Organizing Committee: Jordi Garcia-Ojalvo (Universitat Pompeu Fabra) Maria Manosas (Universitat de Barcelona) Milan Milicevic (EPS) Matteo Palassini (Universitat de Barcelona) Isabel Pastor del Campo (Universitat de Barcelona) Adriana Zerafa (EPS) Venue: Barcelona Biomedical Research Park (PRBB), Barcelona, Spain.
