Cloud based infrastructure and platforms for Big Data (STA-12-BDIC)
Special Thematic Area part of 17th IEEE International Conference on Smart Technologies (IEEE EUROCON 2017) 6 – 8 July 2017 http://eurocon2017.org/ http://eurocon2017.org/Home/SpecialThematicAreasAndPanels Deadline full papers submission: 30 January 2017 EXTENDED Submission page: https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=ieeeeurocon2017 SCOPE AND OBJECTIVES Cloud Computing provides the ultimate platform for building Big Data infrastructure and running Big Data applications that in turn promote the development of the cloud based high-performance computing architectures, services and resources. Building infrastructures to support effective cloud based applications and solutions that tackle Big Data issues requires a multidisciplinary approach. Thus, this special thematic area encompasses a very broad group of involved parties such as: social media, Internet of Things and other sources that generate high volumes of data such as the transactional records from high speed trading systems and high volume business record analytics; high energy physics, biology, biodiversity, and alike that analyze Big Data; high performance networking for transferring Big Data; cloud infrastructures, especially high performance optimized use of resources for storing and processing Big Data; enterprise and business support systems for provisioning of cloud and Big Data services. At the same time, storing and processing Big Data on clouds creates concerns about data protection and privacy that should be addressed by corresponding cloud and inter-cloud security and compliance models. This STA focuses on techniques, experiences, applications, and lessons learned from development, design and use of cloud based platforms for solving Big Data problems as well as the related issues like high performances, security and privacy, and legislation. You are cordially invited to participate in, contribute to, and attend the Cloud based infrastructure and platforms for Big Data (STA-12-BDIC) Special Thematic Area to be held as part of IEEE EUROCON 2017 (http://eurocon2017.org/Home/SpecialThematicAreasAndPanels) July 6-8, 2017 in Ohrid, Macedonia. The Special Thematic Area aims to address, explore and exchange information on the state-of-the-art and practice in the broad multidisciplinary fields related to Cloud Computing and Big Data. Participation is extended to researchers, designers, educators and interested parties in all disciplines and specialties that connect cloud computing and big data. TOPICS The STA-12-BDIC topics include (but are not limited to) the following: This special thematic area solicits contributions that address contemporary and future challenges in cloud computing support for big data, particularly in cloud infrastructure, cloud based platforms, automation, big data technologies, security and privacy, and related applications: * Architecture and design of cloud based high performance infrastructure * Managing large-scale cloud based platforms * Automation of cloud based applications deployment * Cloud based infrastructures and platforms for IoT * High performance Big Data ready networks * SDN solutions for support of Big Data * Knowledge discovery and cognitive technologies in the cloud * Use of Big Data technologies for science * Leveraging Big Data technologies and clouds in the enterprise * Experiences, case studies and lessons learned in designing, developing and deploying cloud based Big Data applications and Big Data analytics * Security, compliance and risk analysis in Big Data infrastructures and applications * Data protection and privacy, implication of European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) STA Chairs Yuri Demchenko, University of Amsterdam Sonja Filiposka, Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje Full paper submission deadline: 30 January 2017 EXTENDED Author notification: 15 February 2017 Camera-ready papers and author registration: 6 April 2017 Submission page: https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=ieeeeurocon2017 International Program Committee All submitted papers will be reviewed by the STA technical program committee members following the IEEE conference criteria. |
