European Insolvency Law stands at yet another decisive moment. The European Commission’s proposal for a new Insolvency Directive, currently under negotiation with the European Parliament, seeks to further harmonise Member States’ insolvency frameworks and to strengthen creditor protection and confidence. This movement aims to deepen the Single Market, particularly the Capital Markets, at a time when economic recovery, business restructuring, and legal harmonisation are at the forefront of EU policy debates.

This event provides a platform for rigorous academic reflection and informed policy discussion by bringing together scholars and practitioners to critically assess the implications of the forthcoming Directive and to situate it within the broader trajectory of European integration and market regulation, under different perspectives, including multidisciplinary, cross-border, and comparative perspectives.

Therefore, the discussion will gather voices from across the globe to broaden the horizons of those involved in the debate, providing them with fresh perspectives on how to address change in an ever-evolving globalised world. We welcome submissions from all related fields, with preference for contributions from those interested in the rule of law, markets and collective action, against the background of Europeanisation and globalisation.

We invite early and established academics to participate in the debate in one of two ways:
1. Poster Sessions. Open to postgraduate students (undertaking their Master or PhD studies). Poster sessions provide a valuable forum for in-depth dialogue and exchange. They showcase original ideas, as well as emerging methods and provide students with a platform to share their innovative research, in a visually engaging poster format.
2. Panel Sessions. Open to early or established academics. Panel sessions consist of short, thought-provoking presentations delivered by expert speakers in the field, followed by a discussion with the audience. These sessions are designed to foster critical debate and the exchange of diverse perspectives.

All participants are invited to publish an Extended Abstract of their Conference Communication in an Open Access e-book with an expected length between 1500 and 2500 words (around 5 pages long).

Please submit an abstract of no more than 250 words until the 28th of February 2026, which will be circulated to all participants. We welcome submissions from all related fields, with preference for contributions in social sciences (such as law, economics, management, political science, sociology, among others). Interdisciplinary contributions are particularly encouraged.
