Call For Papers

The 10th ACM International Symposium on Pervasive Displays (ACM PerDis) 2026

The 10th ACM International Symposium on Pervasive Displays (ACM PerDis) 2026 will bring together researchers and practitioners to explore innovations in pervasive and situated display technologies. The event aims to revive and reshape PerDis by blending the legacy of the PerDis symposium with the Media Architecture Biennale (MAB), both traditionally ACM / ACM In-Cooperation events.

This new format bridges academia and industry, recognizing how research interests, topics, and technologies have rapidly evolved. It enables novel application areas and the utilization of emerging components, incorporating these advancements to sharpen the focus of the conference format. The inaugural event, hosted by LMU Munich in Spring 2026, invites a broad audience to engage with this evolving community.

PerDis '26 will be held from March 16th – March 18th, 2026, in Munich, Germany.

About the Symposium

The Tenth Symposium on Pervasive Displays continues the tradition of previous PerDis symposiums by offering a premier venue for advances in research, technologies, and applications related to pervasive displays. The symposium welcomes researchers, students, and practitioners to this multi-disciplinary, yet intimate, single-track event to discuss challenges, innovations, and achievements in pervasive displays from diverse perspectives, including Human-Computer Interaction, Ubiquitous Computing, Media Architecture, Urban Interaction Design, Smart Cities, and Sustainable Technology.

Submissions are encouraged from both technical and design research perspectives on the future of display technologies in public and semi-public spaces.

Pervasive Displays

Pervasive displays are digital display systems embedded within physical, social, or interactive environments, enabling context-aware, situated, and continuous communication. These displays may function as standalone systems or as part of larger infrastructures that engage with users, objects, or the environment itself across various contexts — public spaces, private areas, urban settings, or mobile/remote environments.

Such displays are designed to interact with users or surroundings in meaningful, often collaborative ways through visual, auditory, haptic, thermal, olfactory, or other sensory outputs.
