General Information
The Responsible Use of Artificial Intelligence and Emerging Technologies in
Higher Education conference 2026 (RUAIETH 2026) invites contributions on the
responsible use of artificial intelligence (AI) and emerging technologies
(ET) in higher education. The conference will occur in Windhoek, Namibia,
from February 18th to February 20th 2026. The submissions should present
original and unpublished research work or industry tools at the confluence of
emerging technologies (including artificial intelligence) and higher education. We
also invite workshop proposals as co-located events to the conference.
Paper Format
The conference will accept submissions of maximum twelve (12) pages each
written in English. Authors are strongly encouraged to follow the formatting
guides from Taylor & Francis accessible at this link.
Exceptionally, the conference will consider a limited number of position papers
that discuss visionary ideas in higher education. Workshop proposals should not
exceed 1000 words.
Accepted papers will be published by Taylor & Francis. Alternatively, a few
papers will be selected for publication in the Journal of Responsible Tech-
nology in an extended version as a special issue. These papers will undergo a
new review process.
The conference proceedings will be submitted for indexation in SCOPUS, Google
Scholar, DBLP and Semantic Scholar citation index.
Submission
The review process for this conference should be double-blind. Therefore,
authors must anonymise their submissions (no author name or affiliation). Any
additional form of identification, including self-reference in the submission, should
be avoided. Finally, the authors should refrain from acknowledging any funding
institution that might have supported the research reported in the paper.
All electronic submissions must be in PDF format. Submitted papers must be
formatted according to the guidelines defined below. The LaTex template can
be found here, while the MS Word template is available here.
To submit a paper, follow this link.
Selection Criteria
The selection criteria include novelty, originality, clarity and potential impact.

Potential authors should note that submissions generated with any form of AI,
including generative AI, will result in desk rejection. In general, the conference
will scrutinise documents for plagiarism and take appropriate action if necessary.
