Call For Papers

The Winter Simulation Conference (WSC) is the premier international forum for disseminating recent advances in the field of systems simulation. In addition to a wide-ranging high-quality technical program, WSC provides the central meeting place for simulation practitioners, researchers, and vendors working in all disciplines in industrial, governmental, military, services, and academic sectors. The theme for WSC 2011 is “Simulation for a Sustainable World.”

LOCATION: WSC 2011 will be held in sunny Phoenix, Arizona at the Arizona Grand Resort Hotel, December 11 – 14, 2011, situated just six miles from the Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport. The Arizona Grand Resort Hotel is an all-suite AAA four-diamond premier resort hotel located right next to 17,000 acres of South Mountain Preserve, the largest municipal park in the world. Hotel amenities include an 18-hole golf course, a 20,000 square foot athletic club, a full- service spa and salon, a 20-meter indoor heated pool, and three on-site restaurants.

KEYNOTE SPEAKER: Dr. R. F. “Rick” Shangraw, Jr., is the Director of the Global Institute of Sustainability at Arizona State University. In this role, he chairs the directorate overseeing the Institute and the integrated School of Sustainability. The pan-university Institute engages over 300 faculty members in sustainability research and solutions. The School of Sustainability, the first of its kind in the U.S., offers transdisciplinary degree programs focused on developing leaders able to find practical solutions to environmental, economic, and social challenges. Shangraw also is Senior Vice President for Knowledge Enterprise Development and is a Professor of Practice in both the School of Sustainability and the School of Public Affairs. Shangraw was the founding Executive Director of the Decision Theater, where he integrated visualization, simulation, and collaboration tools and techniques to address sustainability issues at the local and regional level. He led projects in water management, land use planning, and urban sustainability in partnership with local governments and the private sector.

PROGRAM: WSC 2011 features a comprehensive program ranging from introductory tutorials to state-of-the-art research and practice. WSC 2011 will also incorporate the MASM (Modeling and Analysis for Semiconductor Manufacturing)
