The Society of Information Processing, (SIP) was established in 2006 by two well known Computer Scientists Dr. L M Patnaik, Vice-Chancellor, Defence Institute of Advanced Technology and Dr. Venugopal K R, Principal, University Visvesvaraya College of Engineering, http://www.venugopalkr.com. Society of Information Processing intends to be a global forum for Researchers, Engineers and Scientists to discuss recent advances and new technology in Information Processing. Its headquarters is located in Bangalore.

Society of Information Processing organizes an International Conference in the month of August every year and publishes quarterly Journal in the area of Information Processing. The Conference and Journal on Information Processing encompasses a large number of Research Topics and Applications from practical issues to theoretical aspects of communication, low level to high level Networking, Wireless Technology to Mobile Information System, Bioinformatics, Data, Web and Semantic Mining and many other topics.

The Defence Institute of Advanced Technology, (DIAT) was established in 1952 under the name The Institute of Armament Studies. In 1967, the Institute was renamed as Institute of Armament Technology, (IAT) and was again renamed as Defence Institute of Advanced Technology in 2006. It is located at Girinagar, Pune. The role of the Institute is considerably enlarged by the Defence R&D Council of India. It offers Post-Graduate and Research programmes. In the year 2000, the Institute acquired the status of a Deemed University. Dr. L M Patnaik is the current Vice-Chancellor of the University. http://www.diat.ac.in

University Visvesvaraya College of Engineering was established in the year 1917 by Bharat Ratna Sir M Visvesvaraya. It is the Fifth Engineering College to be established in the country. After the formation of Bangalore University in 1964, UVCE became one of the Constitutent Colleges of Bangalore University. This is one of the oldest technical institutions in the country imparting technical education leading to BE, ME, B.Arch, M.Arch, M.Sc.(Engineering) and Ph.D degrees in the various disciplines of Engineering and Architecture. It has completed 92 years of Academic Excellence since its inception.

UVCE is rated among the top 15 Engineering Colleges in the country and is situated at K R Circle in the neighborhood of Vidhana Soudha, Government of Karnataka.
