IEEE International Conference on Edge Computing and Communications (EDGE 2025)
Helsinki, Finland, July 7-12 2025 https://services.conferences.computer.org/2025/edge/ Call for Papers Edge computing is an essential part of the computing continuum, lying close to the data source and colocated sensing, computing, storage, and communication. It also complements cloud computing, offering a paradigm by which applications ranging from smart cities to autonomous systems can be orchestrated across distributed resources from the field to the data center. The advent of 5G/6G, edge accelerators and advances in ML, such as federated learning and LLM, are also making the role of edge computing prominent. This opens up several research opportunities to help advance emerging applications across various domains. At the same time, it raises many fundamental and unprecedented research and development challenges. About the Conference: The 2025 IEEE International Conference on Edge Computing and Communications (IEEE EDGE 2025) aims to continue to be recognized as a prime international forum for both researchers and industry practitioners to exchange the latest fundamental advances in state of the art and practice of edge computing, identify emerging research topics, and define the future of edge computing. IEEE EDGE is affiliated with IEEE World Congress on Services (SERVICES). EDGE 2025 will feature a high-quality technical program, including research tracks, tutorials, and demonstrations. An engaging industry program will also host keynotes, panels, and exhibits from leading researchers and industry leaders. Original papers that address various aspects of edge computing theories, technologies, and applications are invited. Topics of interest include but are not limited to the following: * Edge Computing Platforms * Collaborative Edge and Cloud Computing Continuum * Edge Computing in Multi-cloud environments * Edge Centric Convergence of IoT and Cloud Computing * Storage, Caching and CDN at the Edge * Serverless Computing and FaaS on the Edge * Hardware Accelerators for Edge Computing * Artificial Intelligence and ML at the Edge * Federated learning and Privacy respecting ML on the Edge * Generative AI Continuum – from Edge to Cloud * Edge Communications * Edge Computing and Network Functions Virtualization * Edge Access Networks and Systems * Edge Computing for 5G/6G Networks and Systems * Applications on the Edge * Services for Edge Computing * Benchmarks and Workloads for Performance of Edge Systems * Edge Computing for Autonomous Systems, Vehicular Networks, Smart Cities, IoT Applications, etc. * Intelligent, Adaptive and Realtime Applications on the Edge * Secure and trustworthy Edge Systems * QoS & QoE at the Edge * Privacy-preserving Edge architectures * Secure Edge computing technologies We invite papers of different lengths, including full papers, short papers, and work-in-progress papers.
