IJMS aims to be a platform for the exchange of cutting-edge knowledge, fostering a deep understanding of the evolving nature and significance of magazines in contemporary society. The International Journal of Magazine Studies is an open-access and peer-reviewed journal, seeking Scopus indexing. As an interdisciplinary journal, IJMS encourages submissions related to magazine studies from all research fields, including, but not limited to: Communication Journalism and Media Sociology Linguistics History Communication Design Strategic Communication Visual Arts Digital Media Topics that can be addressed, but not limited to: Magazines and digital transition Information architecture, editing, typography, and other elements of communication design in magazines Magazine covers vs magazine homepages The role of Magazine format inside enterprises History and development of indie magazines Specialized magazines Magazines as cultural artifacts The social role of magazines Magazine and Journalism Frontiers The role of advertisement in Magazines Magazine Journalism Methodologies for Analyzing Magazines Theoretical Approaches to Magazine Studies Magazines as communities New multimedia narratives applied to magazines Innovation and magazines Magazine journalists, editors, and workplaces Social Media and Magazines Magazine formats on TV and Radio Magazine World Representations in Literature and Cinema Magazine as art objects Submission Guidelines: Submissions to the International Journal of Magazine Studies must be original, not previously published, and not under consideration by other publications. IJMS accepts articles in English, French, Portuguese, and Spanish. When English is not the original language of the article, the title, abstract, and keywords must be also provided in English. Author names, affiliations, charts, graphs, and bibliographic references must be in the Roman alphabet. Submission will be made anonymously, and the manuscript should not have any reference to the authors or the institution they belong to. The authors must ensure that their manuscripts are prepared in such a way that they do not reveal their identities to reviewers, either directly or indirectly. Submissions will undergo a rigorous double-blind peer review process, by at least two peer reviewers. Manuscripts must have a minimum length of 4000 words and a maximum length of 6000 words (including figures, tables, footnotes, references, and annexes). The title should not exceed 30 words, and the abstract must be between 150 and 200 words. Only word or RTF document files are accepted. Failure to comply with the guidelines will result in exclusion of the submission. The submission must be online, after registration on the website of the International Journal of Magazine Studies.
