SPECIAL ISSUE ON:
Green Technologies for Wireless Communications and Mobile Computing

Green technology has been one of the most important issues in developing and implementing networking techniques and communication systems. Energy-efficient techniques used in networking and computing have recently received a considerable attention. Green technologies foster environmental sustainability and the economics of energy efficiency. Reducing the energy consumption of computing and communication infrastructure in home, enterprise, and data centre environments by power-efficient technologies is an area of increasing importance for researchers and industry and commercial entities.

This special issue aims to address green technologies for wireless communications and mobile computing. It solicits high-quality theoretical as well as practical works on a broad range of issues important to communications, networks, and applications for green wireless communications and mobile computing environments.

Topics of primary interest include, but are not limited to:
■ green computing methodologies and paradigms for ubiquitous computing
■ green wireless network architectures and communication protocols
■ green network design for ubiquitous computing
■ green applications by wireless communications and mobile computing technologies
■ energy-efficient wireless access networks
■ energy-efficient mobile and wireless networks
■ energy-efficient network services and applications
■ energy-efficient protocols and applications for sensor networks
■ energy-efficient protocols and applications for vehicular networks
■ energy-efficient wireless transmission technologies
■ energy management in wireless communication networks
■ power-efficient embedded and ubiquitous computing
■ network planning and optimization for green wireless networking
■ network survivability and network resilience strategies
■ network virtualization for ubiquitous computing
